Synthesis

Exercise I

The ideal parent for me in my view is one who can relate to his/her own child. They have to be able to be understanding as to thier childs' needs fears, desires etc. It is not easy but you have to be thier friend but yet at the same time, an authratative figure.

Communication is also key here. Parents must make time to hear thier kids out and try to speak to them and not down to them

Trust, giving the child responsibilities, giving them room to grow, privacy when neccessary and not be smothering are imperative. This will build thier self confidence within themselves and future desires to open up to thier parents more often. Do not let go of the reins but loosen them just a bit when appropiate. At the sames time be not lack-adaisacal or show little concern. Parenting as are all things in life must be done in balance or the scales will not tip in your favor.

Another virtue needed in the ideal parent is patience. There will be many days when you will have a short fuse or the everytday hassles of life has you stressed. We as a parent must be prepared emotionally to restrain ourselves, act as an adult and finally lead by example. They are watching our every move and will be replicas of thier surroundings and upbringings.
